DASH is a pleasant and affordable way to travel in and around Alexandria. Learning to ride DASH is easy. If you have any questions after reviewing this information, call our customer service center at 703-746-DASH (3274). Representatives are available to answer your questions or take comments about our service from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. DASH's courteous drivers can also assist you with rider information. Rider bulletins are posted on all buses for special announcements and holiday schedules.
Important SmarTrip® Notice: Effective April 1st, the New "Plan Ahead...Pay It Forward" Initiative Begins
Effective April 1, 2015, DASH will no longer offer the capability of adding value to a SmarTrip® card on the bus. Riders are able to take advantage of the network of locations to add value to their SmarTrip® card around the city and the region, including all Metrorail Stations, most CVS and Giant stores, the Alexandria Transit Store and Arlington and Fairfax Commuter Stores. Adding value to a SmarTrip® card can also be done online and even from a smartphone. By eliminating the add value option on the bus, all DASH customers will experience a more convenient ride, with less hassle, ease in boarding, and reliable departures and arrivals.
