DASH offers affordable fares, a unique transfer system, and a money-saving monthly DASH PASS. Please have the exact fare ready when you board. Drivers carry no change.
Base Fare
Children 4 or under with adult, (Only 2 children per paying customer)
Transfers upon boarding
DASH honors the Regional SmarTrip Card, Metrobus Full Fare Weekly Pass, Transit Link Card, and the monthly DASH PASS. Regional Bus Transfers and Metrobus regular tokens are accepted for the base fare. The Regional Metrorail-to-Bus Transfer Discount is automatically applied when using a SmarTrip card. Please note that WMATA, Student, Senior, and Disabled fare media are not accepted on DASH.
Transfers
Ask your driver for a paper DASH transfer when you board the bus. If you pay your fare with a SmarTrip card, a transfer will be automatically added to your card. DASH transfers are good for up to 4 hours and are honored on all DASH routes in any direction, including a return trip on the same route. DASH transfers are good for the initial fare paid. DASH transfers on SmarTrip cards are honored on Metrobus and participating local bus systems for up to 2 hours. Additional charges may apply when transferring to services priced higher than DASH.
