DASH is excited to announce the start of the public comment period for the FY 2026 Alexandria Transit Strategic Plan (ATSP) Update. From March 17 to April 18, the public is invited to share their feedback on four proposed service updates via our online form (Available in Amharic, Arabic, English, Persian, and Spanish). All input will be compiled and presented to DASH’s Board of Directors prior to finalizing the FY 2026 budget. Once approved, the new budget and service updates will be in effect from July 2025 through June 2026.
Thanks to the City of Alexandria’s support, DASH does not foresee any cuts to current services over the next year. With the continued implementation of the Alexandria Transit Vision, DASH has identified several potential improvements on Lines 32, 34, and 31 that are not currently funded. Feedback received from this outreach process will help DASH prioritize which improvements should be made, should additional funding become available.
FY 2026 – FY 2034 ATSP Update
Key proposed service updates for this budget cycle are listed below in current priority order:
- Increase Line 32 (King St. Metro – Landmark Transit Center) frequency from 60 minutes to 30 minutes during off-peaks and weekends.
- Increase Line 34 (Potomac Yard Metro – Lee Center/Southwest Quadrant) frequency from 60 minutes to 30 minutes on Sundays.
- Increase Line 31 (NVCC – Braddock Rd. Metro) frequency in Old Town from every 30 minutes to 15 minutes during off-peaks and weekends.
DASH also requests feedback on our Arlandria bus service evaluation, which recommends extending Line 34 from Potomac Yard to Arlandria to improve transit affordability and connectivity. [Arlandria Service Evaluation Report]
