The Alexandria Transit Company is pleased to announce that City Council unanimously adopted the FY 2025 budget on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. The final budget adopted by the City does NOT include any changes to DASH service.
Here are the highlights for DASH riders:
- The proposed reduction to Line 104 service from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes was not included in Alexandria City Council’s final budget for FY 2025. Line 104 will remain unchanged in FY 2025 and will continue to run every 30 minutes.
- Due to budget constraints, the unfunded improvements proposed on Lines 31, 32, 34 will not be implemented in FY 2025 and will be deferred to a future year.
- Based on community feedback, DASH staff will evaluate opportunities to provide additional service to Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria in the coming year. Any service changes resulting from this evaluation would likely be implemented in FY 2026.
Additional information on future DASH service plans is outlined in the FY 2025 – FY 2034 Alexandria Transit Strategic Plan (ATSP).
We thank our riders and neighbors who weighed in on the proposed service changes in the ATSP and who advocated for DASH bus service in the City’s annual budgeting process. We hope you will continue to share your feedback and help us build an even stronger future for transit in our community!
