Masks Remain Required on Public Transit

Masks Remain Required on Public Transit

May 2, 2021

The Centers for Disease Control issued new guidance on Thursday, May 13 stating that individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not have to wear a mask or practice social distancing in public in some circumstances. However, transit is one of the critical exceptions to this guidance and masks are still required on buses, trains, airplanes and at transportation hubs such as bus stops, rail stations and airports.

DASH passengers must wear masks while waiting for, riding on and disembarking all buses. Passengers without masks will still be able to obtain one from their DASH operator when boarding the bus. For the safety of our riders, employees and community, anyone who refuses to wear a mask onboard a DASH bus will not be permitted to ride unless it is medically unsafe for them to wear a mask. This policy has been in effect since February 8 and will remain in effect until further notice in accordance with the federal mask mandate for public transportation.
