DASH joins Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) in recognizing Transit Appreciation Month as they highlight all of the steps that transit agencies across Virginia are taking to keep you safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This month will highlight the contributions of essential transit workers as well as the important roles transit agencies play in promoting community health, safety and wellbeing. DRPT will recognize different Virginia transit agencies throughout the month on their social media channels (@VirginiaDRPT).
As part of Transit Appreciation Month, DASH will highlight its very own heroes who have kept Alexandria moving during these uncertain times. Be sure to follow DASH on social media (@DASHBus) for the latest updates.
The safety and health of its passengers, operators and community continues to be the highest value. DASH continues to monitor daily ridership so that increasing passenger demand can be accommodated. The agency will continue to listen to and follow the advice of local and state public health and safety officials. The additional procedures and precautions DASH put in place at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic will remain in effect until further notice, including requiring masks for all passengers, disinfecting its buses and facility, maximizing rear-door boarding and the temporary suspension of fare collection.
